My hotter/red/temp up button stoped working last night. Whats the likely problem. also the button that changes the vents from the floor to the dash doesnt change anything. what can be done about this?

Assuming that you're talking about the 84-89 climate control computer, you can potentially try some contact spray (available at Radio Shack) and that may get that button working for you again without having to remove the computer and using the same contact spray once you take the box apart.

If that doesn't work, there may be some companies who can repair these units (none come to my mind at this point), or you can purchase a used one from a place like Contemporary Corvettes if need be.

It's common. The contacts between the ECC's faceplate and its body get dirty. Once the ECC module is out of the dash it's a simple matter to open the case and clean the contacts with alcohol and eraser.
