Ok, here it is. Just got done making it last night. Unfortunately, though, I can't get it to echo anything using Hyper Terminal :( ... not sure what's wrong. Going to be busting out the continuity tester to make sure I don't have any cold solder joints.
The Diode mounted by the IC Pin 1 . . . Cathode End looks to maybe not be soldered good. Hard to tell from a picture and it's probably just the way the light is shining on it.
Did you etch the pc board?
What is that "Max232" IC? A RS232 decoder?
Let us know how this works out and good luck with it.

I've checked all of my solder joints over using a continuity tester, and I think they are all good.
Yes, that chip is an RS232 decoder of some kind. I bought the kit from http://www.wotelectronics.com (AKM) and have put it together myself. So far it's not working yet   . My dad is an electrical engineer and says everything looks good on it too.
BTW, I did figure out I had the white connector on backwards.. (DOH!), but I used a voltmeter on and checked to see which connectors power was going to, and I don't think I could have fried anything on it by having it hooked up backwards. Most of the connectors didn't even make contact with the board with it on backwards.
Glock,
Build me one PLLLLEEEAAASSEE..... I'm sure we can work out a trade of some sort. How much????How much???
Lol.. i need to get this one working first ... hehe. You can get them assembled from http://www.wotelectronics.com . It's really not that hard to put it together. The kit comes with all the parts, and you have to assemble it. The kit not assembled is $20 cheaper.
My WOT Electronics module is not working either. Steve asked me to send it back to him for testing and he'd only charge me for the parts that needed to be replaced. That's pretty fair I think considering I put it together myself. Have you contacted him yet?
Yes, I contacted Steve... left him a few e-mail's but he hasn't replied. Only replyed to two e-mails earlier in the week (different ones). I think I probably know what's wrong with it.. the voltage regulator is bad.. it's outputing 2.5 volts instead of 5 .. and the Max232 chip is designed to run on 5v not 2.5v. Anyone have one of these to check their voltage on ??
