Default vented opti hose

where can you find the hose replacement for the opti that sucks out all the mositure. I see that it gots that metal piece in to mate up to the opti. Mine is gauged and has a small hole in it. Or will any hose that is the same diameter do? Just wanting to put my car togther right the first time.

I may be misunderstanding what you are saying. But, the metal piece is attatched to the opti, not in the hose. You may have a damaged opti?

What year Vette? It's possible someone modded the Opti before you got it. The 1992-94 Optis were unvented as O.E.M. The 1995-96 models had the improved, vented Optis.

The vacuum harness for the '95 and up Opti-Spark came from the factory with two protection devices in it.
1) Check valve to prevent backflow in case of a backfire in the intake.
2) Vacuum limiter to prevent too much vacuum at the Opti-Spark.

The intake manifold can easily develop 20" of vacuum.
The vacuum limiter shuts down the vacuum to prevent more than about 2" of vacuum from reaching the Opti-Spark.

With full manifold vacuum of 20" inside the Opti-Spark, I wouldn't be surprised if it would collapse.

So, when replacing the hose, don't forget the protection devices.
