fuel pump part ??
my 88 fuel pump isnt always gettin power ,tracked it down to the wires inside the tank(sending unit),3 wires(gray-hot,black-ground,purple -sending unit) that go into this white plastic sealed box at the other end of the white plastic box the wires are about 1/2" long theyre very stiff & brittle ,can I bypass this box without any problems

Ok I found a pic in a older post ,same question ,do I need this plastic box ,or can I cut it out & run wires directly to pump? heres pics at this thread http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...l+sending+unit

thats a tough one, just about to complete a full recond on my 87, hopefully going to drop it back in today, and it has the little white box like yours, and even in the other thread, no one seems to know.

update ,downloaded pics of new sending units off e-bay & zoomed in & some didnt have this box,so I cut that box thing out & ran straight wires ,the short wires on top of the white box where very hard& brittle causing an on& off fuel pump problem that was drivin me nuts for awhile so if you have a similar year & problem give it a check,alleluyah.
