I have a 95 coupe, with corisa exhaust, open air lid with K&N filter. My question is,
1. how much performance increase will I get buy installing headers and hi-flow converters? (Can not remove converters in my state)
2. How hard will it be to install headers and converters on the LT1 engine?
3. Which headers are the best for the money
You'll probably only get 10-20 hp with a stock engine, but long tubes will benefit more if you do other engine mods down the road. I installed Stainless Works headers and Random Technology bullet cats on my LT4 - reasonably easy to install, and I got a great deal on a group purchase this spring. I hooked up mine to the stock cat-back, but they should hook up easily to your Corsas. Spark plugs are much easier to get at now, too. If you search, you can find several header install threads with detailed pictures.

Most of the "higher-end" header companies make a good headers, I think every brand has a couple little
quirks..... I've got Hooker 02149's and they don't come with an alternator back bracket, and the oxy
sensor hole is on one tube instead of further down the collector where it can read 4 cylinders instead of
one....but other than those little issues, they are very nice!
We make Headers and extension pipes to fit the Corsa exhaust with no cutting or welding you can merely just bolt everything up. Check out our GP thread as you can save $100.00 on a set of headers. Merle @EM 480-967-4222
I like the EM headers, the only hard part of the install was turning a motor mount bolt around for clearance. I drove mine on ramps and rotated them up from underneath. The finish on the headers are still excellent after 3 years so far.
Corvette Enthusist Magazine just did a install on the LT 1 and it only got them 9 h.p.. I've did the install on a 95 and 96 with the install not being that hard but again we only saw 10-11 h.p. gains on the dyno. I didn't put headers on my 96 LT 4 as I just didn't think that the end result of an average 10 h.p. was worth it. If you have a built motor than it might be better but for a basically stock motor I dont think the cost, leaks ect is worth it....G
I have a set of Earle's EM LTs on my car. I bought them here on a GP a few years ago. With the right gaskets you won't have header leaks and the Ceramic coating has been holding up well on my DAILY Driver.
The thing about headers is you don't need them, until you need them IE on a stock engine they won't help much but once you start working on the heads, new cam etc you will definately feel the difference. So I'd bet headers are worth 25-30 RWHP on my car now (check sig for mods), but when I installed them (stock engine) they cost me a little low end power and may have provided 10 rwhp on the top end.
So figure out what your plans are before spending the money on headers.

Thanks for your help.
Goose.
Goose, headers just open a door. You gotta shove something else through it.
Headers are not magic, and other things need to be done to achieve the performance they would allow.
Timing and fuel, for one.
Stock injectors are at best ....not great.... The computer's stock engine management is "mild".
Think about a reprogram and a set of injectors as well.
Fuel pressure increases help. A K&N air filter will help too. .
With that done, the headers will allow the engine to maximize the modifications and you should see some results.

If Merle had kids, the money that I have spent there would have put them through Harvard. His headers are a work of art. With his longtubes, hi-flow cats, and a 3" B&B catback, I gained 20 rwhp. That was before cam, heads, etc. (Merle, how much you want for that C5? Marcus.)
