Measuring pushrods?

summit sells adjustable pushrods. usually you can get some idea based on what the pushrod you have in there looks like. since they only come in .050 incerments you just have to grab whatever is closer. what threw your engine off anyway? head decking? block decking? longer valves? any idea how much was taken off and where? this stuff is usually pretty easy to figure out.
