Default Relay connection

Changing out my battery and came across this relay connection looking pretty sick, but not an easy fix, should I just seal it up and leave it alone, or try to find replacement connector, what do you think? Here's pics. Thanks Rich

You should be able to find a new plastic connector and move the wires over one at a time. Should not have any exposed wire showing .

Thats common to the early C4s before the General changed the wire specs. You want to repair that. I think thats the MAF relay area.
Your connector next to it needs attention too. I believe its the battery out gassing that causes it to happen.

That harness is available at most AC Delco type parts stores. I think NAPA even carries one. Some are universal with one solid color wire, like white, for all five positions. Depending on where you find it it could cost anywhere from $12 to $40.

Thanks guys, I did find a replacement connector for the fan relay at Eckler's, still looking for the one that goes to MAF relay. I will take care of the wiring before I put in new battery.

Last spring I found mine was in terrible shape. A Camaro at the youpullit had a good one, I got it for $2. I got the connector and about 6" of the wiring. A little soldering and heat shrinking got it done. I think in 89 GM upgraded the insulation on the wiring and the difference is huge. The newer cars dont have this problem.

Parts like these are often interchangeable between models. My headlight socket was bad and I found many replacements at the pull-a-part yard, some even came off a buick.
