Default HELP. Need LT1 Identified

Hello all,

Greetings from the C3 tent. I need some help identifying what year this LT1 is. I bought it from a yard that said it was from a 1994 Impala SS. But the crankshaft appears to have a key way. (which seems to suggest 96.) I am trying to figure out what year it is to buy the proper balancer hub. Thank you again in advance

It dosen't have the crank sensor in the front cover (for OBDII) but it does have the big hole for a pin drive Optispark so its a 95 or 94.

All LTX cranks have the keyway slot on the crank nose. They just don't use it.

Thank you, I must have been sent the wrong part then.
Here is the hub that(I was told) was for a 95 Corvette. (with bolts) the one without bolts came off the Impala Donor engine. LTx Vetts and Camaro's should have a 3.5 inch hub If im not mistaken. They sure look the same to me. Cranks are the same for all 92-95 LTx's?

Jegs has the correct size for a 92-95 Corvette. Maybe I gotta buy new.

thanks again

You need to buy the hub and pulley for what ever accy drive you are using. There are 3 different accy drives.
1)F body
2)Y body
3)B body

There are 6 different length LTX balancer/pulley hubs.

1)93-95 F body
2)92-95 Y body
3) 94-95 B body
4) 96-97 F body
5) 96 Y body
6) 96 B body

On the hubs anything after 96 is going to be .100 shorter because the OBDII motors had a reluctor ring for the crank sensor in between timing gear and balancer/pulley hub.

Looking at your pics judging by the location of the tensioner, it appears you have a Y body (Corvette) accy drive and a B Body (Caprice) balancer hub.

I think your right. The hub I was sent appears to be identical to the hub i took off the Impala Lt1. So I need the 92-95 Corvette Hub and I should be good to go.
