86Vert no-start when hot no-spark
I drove it till it was ~200F shut it off went into the store came back. No start even with starting fluid or a jump. Towed home.
day later it started right up.
Today it started right up. However I let the engine warm up to operating temp until the fan relay kicked on (180F) and shut it off. 10 minutes later no start and no spark.
Ideas?

Changed cap, rotor ICM =>Ran Great ~2months ago
The cap had gobs of corrosing so I assumed that was it then. Can the ICM go bad that fast?
Also wouldn't this cause the engine to stop running because it never died.
Thank You

Yes I used the thermal grease.
IF it were the ICM would it quit running? The troubleshooting chart is great. I'll borrow my bro's meter and try to follow it today.
Thanks again

hasn't gone into the no-spark mode since. Started it again and let it heat to 200F.
PITA intermittent electrical problem.

replaced the capacitor which has three wires (frayed and shorting) and a new connector.

Thanks to all who replied. CF community is great. I was dreading a high $ repair and as it turned out cost me $11.
I suggest anyone replacing the ICM, rotor and cap go ahead and change the capacitor becasue you get a new wiring harness with it ... whcih is likely as old as the car.
Thanks again
