Default QA1 shocks

Will these shocks give a better ride on the C4. When I go over big bumps I have to check the fillings in my teeth. I have Monroe sensitracs on now , better , but not good. Thanks in advance, Jim.

I tried Monroe shocks (cheap) and got the samething. I went back to the stock Bilsteins and it was a major improvement.

Shocks won't really change the ride quality; that's the spring's job. That being said, 87's had some pretty stiff springs. Unfortunately, you can't simply switch to later-C4 springs as they changed design in 88, but you could get softer springs from VB&P or some such place.

I do have QA1s and love them, but they won't really help with a harsh ride.

I tried springs from VB&P and it is actually worse as far as getting a harsh ride. I told them the kind of ride and handling I wanted, got the springs they recommended along with Koni adjustable shocks. I think the only way around the harsh ride may be coil overs, I'll try this route sometime, now the car is painful to drive.

What do you have your Koni's set at? What springs?

QA1 shocks are, IMHO, terrible. I had a set on my C5 and they blew out THREE TIMES in a year. Additionally, ride control was terrible compared to my Koni's- I'm surprised you're having trouble with them.

If you decide to sell the springs, let me know...

I'll have to check and see what kind of springs they are, I got them about a year ago. I will end up selling them but I'd have to install coil overs first, it might be a while with all the projects I have lined up now.
