Im kicking *** on my 85 and getting this baby looking and running great! I appreciate all the help in the past!
I finally figured out how to stop the 4+3 from going into overdrive all the time. Thanks for the help on that!
So here is the problem.... I changed everything, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, trans filters and fluids, air filter etc. but now when I first take off, it gets up to about 3000 RPM and starts to choke and stutter, almost like its not getting enough gas. It was running real rough before I did all of the tuneup stuff, so Im guessing it is burning more fuel now?? Could the fuel filter be plugged up? If so, where is it? (Im no mechanic, sorry....) Also, now I have a check (or service) engine light lit on the dash panel. Whats up with that?? A good Vette mechanic did all the work on it, so I know t was done right, he is a friend of mine.
Thanks again guys !!!

Reason: Adding info
fuel filter is under the passenger frame rail by the door. lack of fuel could do this and so could spark advance, a weak module or spark arcing with the wires. change that fuel filter first ! should be doing that every 20k miles.

check your fuel pressure regulator. It might not be holding rail pressure. Therefore, causing the injectors not to add the right fuel amount. The light might be a lean condition.
also a good idea. change that filter then hook up a fuel psi guage to your schrader valve on the rail. tape the gauge to the window and drive around. punch it and see if the psi drops when the stumbles start...with any luck just the filter will cure your woes, if not, do that.
Yeh, well.... if you read the OP, you would see that I actually said, "I had a mechanic do the work on it". Which would be the reason for the "Whats up with that?" Pull the codes??? Thats like me asking you to "siff the hagler". Know what I mean?
Maybe if you speak to newbies like myself in a way that we would understand you, "we might know a little more".
I didnt mean, "whats up with the light? Someone fix it"
I meant, "any idea what would be causing that?"
But THANKS for the helpful input.
