I went to the dealer to get the PCM pinouts identified for my H41 code. We chatted about it for a minute, and he asked me if the opti terminals had white powdery jam on them. I said yeah. He [service manager] said 'wires'. He suggested staying away from even premium aftermarket wires. I bought a set for $110.
Then I told him I was trying to route bypasses into the circuit, just in case the wires weren't the problem (one wire actually wasn't even locking onto the opti stud, so I do need wires). He went into the back office, and gave me the FSM!!! Then he said bring it back when you're done.
I started thumbin' thru when I got home, and found this inside the front cover:

said bring it back when you're done.
Why the sad face?
Allowing a member of the public to use the manual, let alone take it off
the premises for an unspecified period of time seems worthy of an
altogether different emoticon.
Perhaps a phone number written down by someone? Perhaps the pay-by-the-minute phone service that he promotes? Perhaps some other "Gordon". I guess I'm just a tad skeptical...
Back in the day, the Plant ran the Corvette Action Center where you could call and get technical information. It was used mostly by dealers, but owners could call as well. Gordon Killebrew worked there for a time. The number from that FSM was a direct line to the Corvette Action Center. There was also the toll free number. Back then the area code for Bowling Green was 502, it is now 270. I've got a photo somewhere of me, Sonny Kilgo, Jerry Watts and Gordon Killebrew. Three of the Corvette Action Center team and really great guys. Little known fact, Jerry Watts and Gordon Killebrew are half brothers.

Mystery solved.
I felt sure it wasn't one of his pay-info lines; I've seen those in ads, and they're not 502's...
