Have an 84 that I am trying to fix a butchered carb conversion on. It came with a holley external electric fuel pump wired directly to the battery with a toggle switch. Can I fix this by hooking the pump up to the existing fuel pump relay or will the elimination of the cross fire injection cause the ECM to not activate the relay?
Or would I be better off just using an after market relay wired to an ignition source? I would like to keep the wiring down to a minimum and use the existing relay if possible.
Is the computer still in the car?
If so you can use original pump relay as the ECM doesn't know the CFI is gone.
If you want to run a aftermarket relay ,all the old pollution wiring feeds (pink / black ) are 12V with the key on to save having to run another switched supply to the relay.
