I stopped at about <10lbs. I had a scare - SUPER SICK GUT SCARE - that I had stripped the plug hole; I hadn't even locked down on it yet. Turned out it wasn't even close to seating. No gasket to crush either , and I got a spot of grease on the threads too.
Oil or anit-sieze makes it a wet torque which is considerably lower than dry. Crush washers need to be crushed and that requires more torque than tappered. Nickle requires less torque than steel.
12-14 is what I use for NGK Iridium with anti-sieze and cleaned head theads. Do #8 and #7 last and you will be able to get it close enough by feel.

They're Bosch platinum +2's. No gasket.
Normally I do clean threads of anything a bolt comes out of, and the bolt. No way to do it with the head in the car tho'.
Anti-seize, not dielectric, like I did on the first 2. Damn. I ain't pullin' them 2 back out.
