Hi
For an engine where the limitations of the air consumption is in the throttlebody the airfoil can help but with a 350 L98 engine without quite extensive mods the gain is very little indeed. If you have to mod your engine then you will not do the airfoil but have a new throttlebody, in my view.
If you have modified the engine and the throttlebody is the limitation you can following the measurements of TPIS gain about 11 hp. They also state that it is little to gain with normal unmodified TPIs. Just look at their measurements in their booklet

Not only does it not do a thing,if the mounting screw ever comes loose it will do major damage.Do a search if you want to see the photos.Throw it away.

1/2" socket and five minutes on the frisbee. I used split washers as spacers when I put the bolts back in. Good luck on the ninth injector 1989's don't have them. Get a service manual ASAP. You might want to check your fuel pressure for leak down. Sell the airfoil on eBay. You know, the greater fool theory.

I have one. I can now lift the wheels for the first few feet. In the winter I remove it though. It has become my favorite christmas tree ornament.

The airfoil subject has been beaten to death. One CFer did test it during a session he paid for on a dynamometer. He was testing other changes he made and included two runs, one with and one without the airfoil. He reported that at peak engine hp it added 3 HP and 8 footpounds of rear wheel torque.
It clearly isn't worth $30.

$30 for 3 HP and 8 torque isn't to bad. Putting that into perspective and scaling up that is $300 for 30 HP, a better ratio then MANY mods!

I picked up a used LTR intake awhile back, the TB had one installed. Even at .5 HP it is giving more power then it is costing in extra weight. Put some locktite on the bolt.

Curious...how tight did you do the bolt after using loctite?

Now I'm worried, I just tightened mine to the technical "pretty tight w/ an allen wrench...something like tight + quarter turn..."

??

That sounds plenty tight. It doesn't need to be gorilla tight with thread locker. You could also use the perment green I think it is, stud and bearing mount.
