Oil temp sender? problems

Does the oil temp sender have any effect on the computer? I got my 94 running the other day, ran fine, but now it shows on the oil temp gauge digital as (low) and it has a miss. If I let up and shift it might go away and run fine and than come back again. I thought it might be the tps also.

It does on a 93. Its one of the things computer looks at in closed loop.

My sensor was cracked and the car would die when warmed up.

Are you sure it uses the OIL temp sending unit? My oil temp guage doesn't work, and it seems to run OK. I once got a code 52, which is oil temp under -32.

It is used on a 1993. If you got a reading way below ambient like that the the sensor is bad or you may no longer have a complete circuit.

When the car is cold the Oil Temp sensor should read close to outside air temp.
