CompTyme first off check your codes. You can access them by grounding terminal K on your ALDL connector. It's right by your right leg under the carpeted piece under the dash. Remove the cover and ground terminal K (BOTTOM ROW THIRD FROM RIGHT) stick a small paper clip in it and run a wire from it to a bolt or something. Then turn the key to the on position not start. On your dash it will blink #12 three times ie:blink pause blink blink after that it should blink out a code of #16 or #26 which means it has a bad left or right frame sensor most likely. Sometimes you can correct this due to corrosion under the sensor (bad ground) You can get to the sensors by removing the gill panels behind the front wheels. How about before we go any further check to see what codes come up first. Pipe

Ok no codes. DISSCONNECT YOUR BATTERY!!! and wait about 10 mins. you'll need to remove the Gill Panels behind the front wheels on both sides. Don't forget the bolt underneath near the rocker panel and the torx heads on the inner fender well. You will also have to remove the windshield washer bottle on the passenger side. After you have it apart look closely on both frame rails near the firewall and you will see small black square sensors on both sides (drivers side hidden behind battery). Remove the sensor and take a dremel tool or small grinder and clean all the rust and corrosion off the frame where the sensor was mounted to. Also clean the bottom of the sensor also. Before re installing apply a fair ammt. of dielectric grease to the frame and bottom of the sensor (do em both while ya got it apart) and re fasten em back on the frame. I put small star washers on the bolts when I did mine it helps make a better ground. After your done you will have to clear the code out to make the light go out. Grounding the pins on the ALDL connector for 3 sec then ungrounding for 3 sec. then grounding for10 sec. This sequence is pretty important to turn the lights out and clear the code. You might have to do this a few times to get it right and clear the code out (with the key in the on position not running after you've cleaned the sensors and re connected the battery) LET ME KNOW HOW YA MAKE OUT Pipe

I had the same problem with the seat belt light on constantly on my 90.
No INFL REST light though. I pulled the DIC and found that the bulb had been removed. I replaced the bulb and naturally, it stayed lit from then on.
I pulled the codes ( 16 & 26 ) and followed the FSM code clearing procedure first. It took several trys, as the timing has to be precise, but I was finally able to clear them and they haven't returned in over a year.
I just have to assume that work was done in the past and they weren't able to clear the codes, so they pulled the DIC bulb.
Follow the werite up in the FSM and tie it into the great info on the forum, and you should be able to clear the codes and shut off those pesky lights.

gw962 wow that's the first time i've seen both codes pop up. Usually it's #26 the right hand sensor that's bad not both. Lots of people can't fix this problem so they remove the light from the driver info panel. Pipe
