Rubberized undercoating is the bomb
I just finished doing my spare tire carrier and it looks great now on to my fender wells. I have pics but can not for the life of me figure out how to put them on.
Sign up for free at photobucket.com and post your pix. Then left click the bottom tab that says IMG.Then come over here and right click and paste in your post. It's easier if you have two windows open.
Has anyone who has done this underneath the car nticed a reduction in road noise and or resonance?
I shot the entire rear end of my car when I took the D44 out, it does help and I noticed rust on my gas tank, so I sanded my tank to get the rust off , cleaned it with brake cleaner, shot some primer on it and rubberized it.
I shot a coat , let it dry, then shot another coat etc

Ohh very very little on this piece that [I] did I cant tell that it is any heavier. I put on 2 coats I dont think you need more than that on anything it sprays out a brown color and dries to a black. I was a little worried at first but the longer it sets the better it looks just take your time.
I have used this stuff on a few non-vette projects. My experience is that it is durable and inexpensive. It does turn a bit black-gray in color from sunlight. I have used it on an ATV and on a utility trailer. Maybe just fine up under the car.

I had the whole car undercoated. Then I went back and removed all the wheel wells and did those too. (Undercoater didn't do them). I also installed sound deadner pads in the doors (standard equip on LT1s).
The difference was fairly dramatic. In fact, it kinda made the car feel a little slower cause of the road isolation -- but not much. I liked the "upgrade".
I originally wanted a C3 but did not purchase due to road noise. An undercoated C4 is what I needed.
This mod won't do much for resonance though. That's an issue with exhaust tuning vs. cabin harmonics. Some claim it's lessened by extending the pipes out past the rear bumper far enough.
If you have loud exhaust, change it. If you have stock, it really shouldn't be much of a problem.
BTW: The wheel wells included removal of the pieces attached to the underside of the hood, the fronts shown by LD85, and the rear wells. I did both sides of all 3.

Very nice work keeping your car clean! If it weren't for the rotors, I'd say it looks new. With rust on the rotors (and a little dirt on the control arms), I'd say 200 miles.
