I coat my quater panels and rear wheel liners with rubber every time I go to the track. It doesn't look that pretty though.

Dupli-Color makes a kit to tackle the hats. Choose the brush version unless you plan on completely removing the rotors for treatment. The spray version can make a LT1 intake look like a LT4.
