See my site for pictorial difference between the early and late TPI plenums. The runners are different also in that some were cast and some were extruded aluminum, but that won't make any difference, but the cold start injector hole will.
Accel used to sell a cold start hole block off kit so you could either eliminate the cold start valve or use runners from the 85-88 TPI cars and block it off.
I dont know if they still sell them.I got mine from LPE performance a few years back when I was experimenting with removing the CS valve. It fit the hole perfect.
Or you can cut a tear drop bracket the shape of the edge of that CS area if the runners have a hole and block it off by simply covering the hole, silicone to prevent vacuum leaks, and using the runner bolt to hold it in place.I heard some people stuck a quarter or some coin that fit inside the hole recess, siliconed in place, then custom made a small bracket to cover it.
:)
Thanks for all the info guys!!! So it sounds like I can purchase a setup from just about any 86-91 TPI and other than the cold start injector, everything should bolt right up. Right? I'm asking this because I'm going to purchase a another TPI setup to do all the MODs on, polishing the outside, new injectors and just change it over and have the old setup as a backup.
