I agree, but it was sold.
I have had 6 serious requests to build one since placing my for sale ad. I wish I had the time to do them. I could be makin money
I had a similiar problem a few years ago with my 87 when I attempted to back it out of the garage.
Wouldn't engage into any gear so first thing that came to mind was possibly low on ATF? Checked that and it was fine and all of the linkage was intact.
Called my buddy Jeff Gillette who own's "Schucks Transmissions" in Dublin California and had it towed to his shop.
A few hours later, he called and told me that the transmission was out of the car and that the front pump was shattered into hundreds of pieces.
Lucky for me it happened at home and not stuck on the road anywhere.
Jeff rebuilt the transmission completely plus added a shift kit and did some other upgrades that also included the torque converter.
As long as you have the transmission out, replace anything that looks suspicious and you will not regret it.
Hrmm. That was quick. Or I'm losing sight of time.

Thanks for the advice. Checking around to see if I can find anyone trustworthy to give me a hand with this mess. If I can't I might be able to get the car on the lift for a day or two at work. Never dropped a transmission before though!
