I have a 1991 C-4 that's been running very well. (23000 miles) Our Oregon Governor decided everyone should be using ethanol in their cars.
The tank I just ran out was from last years fill up, (no ethanol) and I filled up this past weekend, have driven the car 55 miles and now the service engine light is on, the odometer quit working, the mpg instrument is bouncing on and off but all the standard guages are running normal. At low speed the engine coughs, the engine fan is activated and the smell is terrible. Assume catalytic converter acting up. Suggestions?
First jumper ALDL pins A&B (upper right) with a paper clip, turn on the key, count the SES flashes, record the trouble codes (flashes between first "12" and last "12" and report back.
Sounds like you have multiple issues but this is an easy place to start.
