Default LS1 Lifter ?

I was wondering if anyone here is running these lifters on an L98, I know they are the same length with different internal valving but didn't know if those that are running them are having any ill effects and for those that are running them have you had to change any other aspects of your engine? Thanks Shawn.

A lot of SBC/LT1 people run LS7 lifters. They are a drop in replacement and are good to about 7000 rpms.

I installed a set earlier this year.

I've been chatting with LElliot via email. He mentioned LS7 lifters as an option but said (and I quote) "LS7 lifters have the pushrod cup .100 lower and need pushrod length adjusted for this.

My assumption is the rocker wouldn't sit on the valve correctly and/or your valve lift would be reduced.

LS1 lifters may not have this issue.

I'm pretty sure either option is viable -- if -- you check PR length and adjust if necessary.

I'm think they are both the same lifters and carry the same part #.

GM #12499225 - Lifter Set- LS1-LS6-Gen III Engines -1997-2006
the new LS7 part number supersedes the others (LS1) but has different height cup

I just realized that SDPC sent me the wrong lifters all together, that part# on the box is the correct #12499225 LS1 lifters but inside are part#'s17122490 which are a LS2 two stage lifter, they also sent me the wrong head gasket's. I ordered FEL-PRO and received gm gaskets, the bummer is I paid over $100.00 for next day air and got the wrong crap

So, I guess my next question is, has anyone used LS2 lifters in an L98, I see on SDPC website they mention that is is a 2 stage lifter. The lifters themselves look identical to my current lifters on the outside but the insides are completely different, thanks.

Update for those that care, talked to Tech @ SDPC and he informed me that the LS1 lifters have been discontinued. He said that the replacement LS7 lifters carry the same part # as the LS2 and they are both the same lifters. So I owe them a partial apology, although they still sent me different head gaskets.
