95 LT1 Vette Rear O2 sensor functional?
(downstream of cat) o2 sensor on my 95 LT1 is non-functional and
does not have it hooked up.
I find it hard to believe:
1) GM would install a third heated o2 sensor and it be non functional.
2) The un-terminated sensor connector would not be causing problems.
My car has classic bad opti-spark symptoms, but they seem to all go away once it's above 185 degrees water temp.
It's not quick and easy to re-attach the sensor, as the car has long tube headers and random tech cats. I have to weld on a bung before I can re-attach the 3rd sensor.
Are there drivability issues when using long tube headers?
Thanks in advance for any comments.

Your tuner is correct. The rear O2 sensor can be disconnected without triggering any fault codes on the 95.The 96 true OBD2 system is a different story. TPIS can also confirm this for you. I have run their TPIS long tubes for 8 years now with only the two front sensors. No codes will be set.I run LT1 edit software with only reads 1 left and 1 right sensor.
