I took my car racing a couple weeks ago. With the programming I had I was hitting the rev limiter. I bumped all the shift points back to stock and left the rev lim. at 6000 rpms, when shifting from two to three it sound like it is still hitting it. Only on that shift, all others are fine. Is this normal, I need help, Im confused.
Re: Should I be hitting my rev limiter????? (My 95)
Does it sound like its hitting the rev limiter before the shift begins, or as the shift begins? If before, you may have a fuel starvation problem, as the automatic shouldn't be letting the car rev to 6K, if after, you may have a torque converter problem, because this trans shouldn't let an engine rev up while upshifting (quite the opposite would be nice).
Good Luck,

Re: Should I be hitting my rev limiter????? (JPLT1)
It sounds like it is hitting it before the shift. If it is a fuel problem, what can be done to solve that?
If I have less that 3/8 of a tank of gas mine does that before it shifts bring the gas up to a 1/2 or more it's ok, and I know i'm not hitting the limiter.
Re: Should I be hitting my rev limiter????? (mackeyred96)
Like Mackey said (when is mackey everwrong? ) fuel slosh is very bad in these cars I allways makesure I have atleast a 1/2 a tank in the car. If its still doing the same thing try a new fuel filter. If you are modded try 30lb injectors and a 255LPH intank pump. Rember you can never have enough fuel!!! just not enough Oxygen!!!! :seeya
Re: Should I be hitting my rev limiter????? (ASRoff)
Okay, so I took my car out this morning with just over 1/2 tank, still does it. filled it up and still there. So, is this a fuel starvation problem??? What should the fuel pressure be at, I have an AFPR on my car. Or could it possibly be an ignition problem. It has never done this before, until I took it to the track. It had never really been pushed that hard though either for me to notice it. Anyone, please help.

Anyone???
I was thinking, would the gear change to 3.73's cause it to hit the rev limiter, being that it winds up a lot faster than before?? Also I set all the shift points and rev limiter back to stock this afternoon and it still hits it at the top end of second gear. WTF  :mad
