I have not repositioned the C4 mirror but I have had mirrors
(that were already mounted to the glass) relocated for less
obstruction.

Rad928music, did you me your mirror to the windshield? I was thinking about doing the same thing.
If you did, how did you do it?

The mounts are completely different. The stock mirror attaches to the windshield header and is held in place by a screw:

To mount a mirror on the windshield you need a windshield mount that glues to the windshield. The mirror then slides onto the mount.

You will need a new mirror with a windshield mount to do this.

Go to the junk yard and find a mirror with the compass and temp if you want to get fancy.

I think you're going to need power, sensors and a way to control the functions in addition to the mirror, at least it does on my truck. Temp has a sensor in front of the grill, I don't know where the compass unit is but there's power also that needs to be run to it. The compass also has some controls in the console that need to be adjusted to where you're located.
Not impossible but definitely not just a 'stick on' in mine so figure that in too. If you do it, I'd like to see how you accomplished it.

I did it in my '89. I used a C5 mirror I got off ebay. I mounted the metal mounting piece to the windshield using stuff from an auto parts store. The C5 mirror slid right on. I spliced the wire that went to the C4 mirror so it would reach the C5 mirror which also had reading lights.

I like it much better. It's out of my face when I drive!
