Default Help Please!!

so i purchased a 52mm tb and am having some issues. first off the power coupler that ecklers sent me is too long, plus their is now hole set up for the IAT. OH and this is the power coupler that is supposed to fit the 52mm bbk tb, as you can see in pic 2 ecklers is a little mistaken. What should i do now? I just want it to work

Send it back and get a refund. You are not going to realize any more increased air flow and power than the one you already have installed.

What does Ecklers claim for HP gain for this coupler anyway? Whatever it is.....don't believe it.

thats not the issue, on my power coupler it is ripping on the lip that slides on to the tb, so i was forced to purchase a new one! trust me i didnt want to spend 85$ for a piece of rubber!

I have heard that in the past, some people were making their own air coupler from those orange traffic cones. I can't find anything here on the forum, but I'm no computer whiz either, so it might be in a place I haven't looked yet.
The trick, I think, would be to find a size that had the right taper in it so the diameter would be correct on the opposite ends and still have the overall length correct. They make different size cones so maybe it requires a couple of different size cones to complete the set. It's wouldn't be stock and you'd have to cut your own holes but it would still be cheaper than paying top dollar for somebody else's product that still doesn't fit.

maybe you also need a shorter front coupler:

http://ecklers.com/product.asp?pf_id=46463&dept_id=1758

And you just drill hole for the sensor. Some applications dont use a sensor, so they don't make the provision....Typical aftermarket BS...

well the one that they sent me is for the intake style that has an upper intake that the tb bolts on to and has the runners. thats why my power coupler is the wrong size its not designed for my style intake manifold. so i was wondering if i should maybe change it to the 1994-1996 style intake that has the front and rear coupler with the MAF in the middle? but thats expensive route if possible

Get one from a yard. Seems any lt1 coupler would work.

Trans-X will swell rubber. ALOT. I never knew exactly how much until recently, until I hit my V/C rubber gaskets with the stuff...

Give Ecklers a call and see if they can figure out what is going on. I am no expert on all these aftermarket bolt ons, sorry.

But forget about a conversion to 94-96 intake, as yours is NOT a MAF system. That little connector and sensor in your '92 is an IAT (Intake Air Temp sensor). That is not a MAF sensor.

Thr "Mass Air Flow" engine control system was used in the 94 and later F-bodies
