My 95' 6 Speed: Went to start her this morning and it won't turn over. Behaves just like when you don't put the clutch all the way down not contacting the "Nutrual Safety Start Switch".
Question,I can't seem to locate the switch in my book (FSM)
Could it be called something else?
Battery good I don't think it's the starter. I could be wrong. Thought I'd start with th NSSS when I locate it.
I believe the Key wasn't in far enough the Ignition. VATS thinking Wrong Key. I pushed it in tighter and it startes right up.
Anyone experience this? Do I need to ghange out the Ignition Assy"????
Could be the cylinder tumblers need lube. Light oil or powder graphite - I don't know if you should stay away from one or the other, because of the resistor reader. Ask the dealer.
generally if the key is in far enough to turn the ignition then it is in far enough to read the VATS chip. if you can turn the key yet the VATS is not reading properly try cleaning the surface of the chip in your key and then try cleaning out the ignition with air or a light contact cleaner. the VATS has become a PITA for me, best way to solve it is to bypass it
