non/cold start tpi systems
Hi guys,
Wondering if + how a non cold start tpi system can be used on a 88 vette.
From what I understand 85-88 were cold start systems and 89-92 were non cold start systems + 85-88 systems can be blocked up to be used on a 89-92.
What is the exact difference??
Thanks in advance Andrew..

I removed that on my '88. Since mine is an auto I could use the '89 code for a while. Without some computer help the car will crank longer to start. Easy enough project. Some buy block off plates and caps and some have just made them.
The cold start system is a 9th injector plus a large sensor in the front of the engine.

When they removed the physical components of the CSI in '89 , they reprogrammed the ECM to spray extra fuel at cold start up.

On warm days, you will forget the csi is missing. On cold days it will crank a bit more than normal. Mine liked it if I cranked a few seconds, let off then cranked again. Second crank it started real fast.

You would probably make money by selling the parts.
