ABS self test problem 94 LT1
hi folks
I have an ABS self test ( i can hear it )happening around 3/5 mph foreward and /or backwards every time the car drops down to that speed ?? i think it should only happen once after start up and not again until ignition off/then on start up again?
problem coming or just ignore it?

I think 4 MPH is the turn off (decel) and turn on (accel) point for our ABS. It is strange that you can hear it happening though. Can you open the ABS hatch (7mm) and make sure that is the sound you're hearing?

Yes , I am positive the noise i hear is the self test..have removed the foam insulation around the abs unit behind driverseat to check,
I have now noticed that on 2 occosions over this weekend that when the speedo starts as youmove off it reads 0mph then 4 it failed to register 2 and 3/
any ideas

This only qualifies for the "any ideas":
On the top, front, driver's side of the ZF is the vehicle speed sensor. I'm not saying this is your silver bullet. However, it would not hurt anything to remove, inspect, and clean it. Access to the VSS isn't overly generous either.

OK will look see...I know where this is as i replaced the clutch myself about 4 years ago ( HEAVY GEARBOX!!) so will remove and clean..see what happens
