Default 96 LT1 or LT4 question

I need a picture of the crankshaft position sensor installed in either one of these engines.

I am trying to determine which bolt I have goes in it and they are both physically different.

Can someone please help?

No Pics here, but if you have two bolts, it's got to be the smaller of the two? It dosen't take much to hold that CPS in place. 5/16-3/8"

5/16, head is there anyone else that can substantiate this, and is the bolt black?

If they are physically different ?? longer, different thread , different head size, different length???then the threads must be also. I would think that the bolt that goes in there the easiest would be the one that belongs there. do by hand first not to strip it 5/16th and 3/8th by three turns you should know it doesn't belong, clean them both up with wd 40 wipe off and you should be able to tell. good luck. next time lay out bolts in box 1st to last in order you took out then no worries..

Mine has an 8mm head. Just had it out a couple weeks ago.

As someone else suggested, see which one screws in the easiest and move on with life. If that's too hard, take a side-by-side pic of the bolts and post it. I'm sure someone can answer. A physical description of the bolts would be another alternative.

This thread is looking more and more like

Thanks, but if you are not helping then you are hindering, so with that being said, I believe this is my thread and I will ask for what I want.

Anyone with a picture?

Just had mine out a couple of weeks ago. No picture, but it is a short bolt and I think it is a black one too. All it does is hold a little fork like bracket that keeps the sensor in the hole, so it should thread in easy. If it bottoms out and that little fork clip is still loose, then you have too long of a bolt and will strip out the timing cover if you try to force it.

Thanks, I am beginning to believe that I have the right bolt.

1st choice is a black bolt that is 5/16 or 8mm
2nd choice is a silver bolt that is 10mm

So with you substantiating that I will consider this solved.

Although I still would like to see a picture.

I have figured out where the silver bolt goes.
In the power steering pressure line to the generator bracket.
