The below is a link to an article on a 427 sbc utilizing Brodix Race-Rite cylinder heads and a fairly mild hyd roller cam with 234/238 @ .050" - .574/.584 w/ 1.6's lift.
I know one or two of you were considering a set-up similar to this, thus thought I would share......

Holy crap, that's with the Race Rite 180 heads, those pieces of crap. That's what I have on my 350. Actually, I can't believe the RR 180s are making 515 HP. That right there is pretty dam impressive.
With the mini ram and larger heads, and a similar cam, and a dead on ***** tune I should not be surprised to see 550 at the crank, 575 isn't out of the question. Expecting 35 HP out of the heads is completely reasonable, probably more like 50. Another few for the tune and intake, I think getting to 575 is realistic.
I don't think those numbers are too shabby considering the intake and heads are a bit light for that motor.
My .02
Anyone think I'm out of my mind? If I can get 550 CHP 450 RWHP should be achievable what do you think. So again, am I nuts?
They do not really surprise me, those numbers are awful low for a big cube motor..... they are held back a little bit by the cam and quite a bit by the cylinder heads. As a note, the 420 cubic inch motor that LPE advertised for many years with a Brodix Track 1's, Superram and just the 219 cam are below..... very similar to that article above.....

When is the 30 days up? Must be getting closer. Looking forward to seeing your dyno numbers etc.....

With those bigger heads and cam you selected, I dont see why you wouldnt see at least 450 rwhp. Just a guess.
Seriously, I 'd love to see those numbers with the best flowing 23 degree heads available on the market today out of the box...
Brodix -10X or -11X....those put up some killer flow numbers
But that aside, I have to reiterate, those numbers for 180CC head are amazing.
I personally would of liked to see that motor with a set of the AFR 195cc Competition ports. I hear they flow 300+cfm at .600 lift with such a small port. Would of been curious of the hp gains with better flowing heads.
I think my goals are realistic. It will be interesting to see where it winds up.
What do we use for drivetrain loss for an 700 auto? 20%?
I have heard 18%, I have heard 20%. Take your pick.
I am interested in your heads. The part I am interested in is after they port them. Are you going to find out what size the ports are, and what they flow after you spend a few bucks on them?

I'm talking to him today about it. I will have them flowed to make you happy.

They are $1500 new and ported.
So 80% of 575 is 460. It will be close.
Don't do it for me. I really dont care that much actually. If it was me, I would want them flowed before and after. This way you can see the difference in port velocity.

Very little has to come out so I don't expect it to vary much from the original. Mostly cleaning up the bowls.

Remember it's not about peak hp, it's about the power under the curve. Not only will it be interesting to compare our dyno curves, but it will be interested to compare our mph when we both hit the track. I dont really care too much about e.t's, as that means breaking stuff.
You are going with a bigger cam, and bigger heads then myself. If my motor can perform just as well, the proof is in the pudding in regards to my small cylinder heads.
