L98 Hesitating
Getting old sucks, I have some loss of fine motor skills in my left hand so I am going to have to take it to a shop for repairs, but I am looking for some ideas before I make that trip.
Thanks,
Jim

I can relate to the getting old thing. Hard accelaration (WOT) your car goes to open Loop. I guess I would check fuel pressure, timing, MAF and spray the throttle body with F.I. cleaner while running at about 2,000 rpm.
Good luck!

As for your question, do the simple stuff before you go to see Mr. Goodwrench! Here are some simple things to do:1. Make sure you have a clean air filter.
2. How old are your spark plugs and wires? Do they need repalcement?
3. Check timing of engine and remember to remove (or open) the timing connection.
4. Check fuel pressure.
5. Your car came stock with GM Multec injectors and these have a high failure rate. Check the resistance of each injector when the engine is cold. Spec is 16.5 +/- .3 ohms. You should not find high readings on stock injectors. However, you may find lower readings. Low readings indicate shorts in the injector coil assembly. Also, check the resistance when the engine is hot. The coil resistance is related to temp and the readings should go UP when heated.
6. See if you can find someone to scan your engine for you. You may have sensor problems and these are difficult to locate without a scan tool.
Mr. Goodwrench will smile when he sees you coming with a Corvette

Good luck on the car,
Bob
