My 93 has an intermittent clunk that seems to be coming from the differential. It comes and goes with no rime or reason. It is only noticeable on up and down shifts. Mostly on up-shifts. I don't think it is brake related. The FSM says it is a worn differential shaft in the case. The exploded view in the manual (page 4B-2) does not list a part by that name. Are they talking about the yoke (axle) shaft? Later! Frank
Checked the differential oil level lately? Pull the plug on the side see if there is any noticable oil in there if you can't see any and stick a long zip tie (white if you got one) in there to see if you can find any. Check the oil on the zip tie for color and metal specks. Hint: don't spin the differential with the zip tie in there.
I changed the oil a few months ago. It is still full. I had it up on stands last week and could not feel any wheel bearing play. I pulled the wheels and checked everything I could see. I drove it around town several miles today. Not once did it clunk. I am going to change the differential oil tomorrow just to see if there are any metal flakes. It list a pinion but that is the part of the main gear set. I don't what the "C" beam is. I will check the FSM for a picture and check it tomorrow. Thanks for all the replies. Later! Frank
