I would ASSume that they are for the year of your car as you bought a set of 4 and did not modify the rear calipers/rotors along with the fronts.

Thanks,

Jonathan
Jonathan, when you get brake lines for this conversion you use the C4 brake lines front and rear. They will adapt to the C5 calipers with no issues. I hope that helps!

Great thread and good job on your install, It'll make a HUGE difference in your braking and you'll notice the lack of brake fade that you had with the C4 calipers.

Looks great! I did almost the exact same upgrade last year & have been very happy with it.

Yes, in fact I have the Z51 on my '88. The brake bias spring is a very big help. It's a cheap mod and highly advisable if you're gonna be working on your brake system. For full details, contact the tech help at DRM.

I'm gonna let it drop now as it was NEVER my intention to hijack this thread, nor did I intend to steal any thunder, ooohhhs, or aaaaahhhs from Johnnymo63's really cool set up.

Looks good but the rotors don't look much different at all from J55's

I think the C5 rotors are actually slightly smaller in diameter, but are much thicker & better at heat dissipation.

Yes, the brake lines are made for my year C4. The earlier C4s may take another part number and definitely use different adapter brackets. All other parts are the same regardless of year. (fronts)

Need glasses?

C4 Rotor JL9 .75" thick 12.0 diameter.
C4 rotor J55 1.0" thick 13.0" diameter.
C5 rotor JL9 1.25" thick 12.9 diameter

Pads, larger swept area for the C5. Caliper is bigger able to absorb heat better and dissipate it better.

The manual said to disable the latch mechanism at the E-brake handle to give the cable room to travel, but when I pulled on the cable, it didn't move any.
Everything still came apart and went back together ok. I don't know why they say to disengage it.?? You can leave the rear calipers on the car to do the pad and rotor change, but it makes it easier to clean and paint.

sorry I wouldn't see 1/4" and 1/10" on a small picture with no comparison other than memory.

It was actually .5" thickness and 1.0" diameter as he upgraded from the C4 JL9 brakes.

Are the anti-rattle clips anything special from Chevy or are they available at any parts store?

Seems like a very lame question, but I have almost all the parts to do this upgrade and didn't know about the clips.

Upgrade sure looks nice. Bet it performs as well as it looks!

I'm pretty sure you can get them at most if not all parts stores.
I got mine from here.
