Let me know on the upgrade set - all I'd need would be the calipers and adapters themselves. I already have access to a set of rotors and pads.
why not just go with ZR-1 13 inch rotors and calipers? I thought about that one too since bling doesn't show with my wheels anyways. But I'm holding off till I know if the C5 calipers are significantly better the ZR1 calipers.

You should be able to find spacers online. Maybe put a WTB thread in the C4 parts section?

You also need the abutments (caliper brackets) from a C5.

Trust me... they'll stop you like a mother*******!

They are way better than stock. The C5 calipers have a stronger design and have larger piston bores. They also use a larger pad for more surface area on the contact areas. Well worth it to me.

Default Wheel fittment Question

Hey Johnnymo63,

Very nice job on the brake upgrade! I have possibly a dumb question that has been beaten to death!

I plan on doing the exact same mod, but, everywhere that I read, it says that the only wheel that will work are the A-mold style zr1 wheels! Will any Factory or aftermarket 17 inch wheels work except the saw blade style? Although they are nice, every other vette that had changed thier wheels has the A-mold wheels.

I really, really had my heart set on these wheels list in the link below!

Yes, they will work. Any wheel that fits a C5 or C6 will clear the C5 brakes.

Default c4 to c5 upgrade

I am exploring upgrading my 94 convertible to c5 brakes both for appearance and stopping power. If I do the rear brakes and caliper do i lose the ebrake.

I don't know about the C5 rear brakes and the E-brake issue.

I painted my rear calipers, bought matching slotted rotors with "Hawk HPS" pads all around. I have plenty of stopping power and they look good, too.

Here is a finished rear brake.

The 89 and 90 Wheels will fit with no trouble.
The bracket for the 84-87 years is different, in fact it is a lot simpler than the 88-96.

Default C5 Front Calper Brackets are GM Part # 12455799

Don't get caught paying more for C5 front caliper brackets on Ebay, when they only cost $98 for the 2 delivered from GM Parts Direct.
