Default Goodyear Eagle Date Code?

Is the date code on the stock C5 OEM Goodyears the 4 digits before the DOT or the 4 digits after?
I have a new tire that reads 2508 after the DOT but reads 3501 before.
Hoping it's the 2508...

I have "always" relied on the information being either the "last" four or the "last" three if older than '00. I'm quite confident of that. 2508 is quite "fresh"! If the label is still attached the product code on the label would verify it also. The product has changed a couple times I believe since '01!

A stock C5 OEM tire couldn't possibly be produced after about June of 2004, as that's when C5 production ceased.

Why not take a picture though?
