I've got the LT4 and would like to have my PCM reprogrammed for improved tuning. Aside from shipping the PCM to Ed Wright's shop and paying $350.00 do I have any other alternatives open to me? I am not a tuner and would like to have someone do it for me if possible. Just curious. Thanks in advance.
There is a local guy here in Chicago that does PCM tuning for OBDII applications. His name is Brian and can be reached via email at: vorp99@aol.com Tell him Jimmy sent ya.
One thing to keep in mind is that on a non-modified car, there is not much gain to be had via PCM tuning. Every little bit counts, but dont expect too much.
Ed Wright did a fine job in re-programming my LT4. More important than that is that the guy will talk to me and help me out with questions that are not his "fault." I think that he is well worth the cost for his expertise. I also have LT1 Edit (OBDII version), which I like very much, because it lets me "play" with the car. There is not a lot of room left for power improvement to be gained by just tuning a mild motor. The factory did a real good job.
