Well I am a new Vett owner, after many years of wanting one !!!
Should have done this YEARS ago..
I purchased a 92 Conv, 6-speed with 99K miles on it and love it !! One question now, I have put 7K miles on it and a low RPM (1200) vibration shows up much of the time when the motor is cold for 10-15 miles. It is motor speed dependent, not car speed.
I suspect the "dual-mass" flywheel, but then I think a 100K/10 year old car could also have a harmonic balancer that would feel the same. As it is directly motor RPM, I have ruled out u-joints.
I have read that some Porsche models have had this problem with the "dual mass" flywheel, which is why I suspect the wheel. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Thanks for the harmonic balancer input. I guess since they do have a rubber component, that would help explane why it goes away after 15-20 minutes when the temperature effects the rubber consistancy.
