Torque Converter Solenoid
Does anyone know if the TCC solenoid can be bad even though it has the proper resistance? Mine isn't very old, but I can't get the TCC to lock up even when I ground ALDL terminal "F". I do have voltage at the trans harness too.
It is a PIA messing with this. I already replaced the 4th gear switch. I am getting a speed sensor error code, but checked the speedo output at the ALDL with Winaldl, and the computer is sending the speed info. I am not having speedo problems. I may just need to reset that code. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
When I go through the FSM flow charts, everything seems to be in order.
This trans has a recent rebuild, so I don't want to overheat it by driving it too far w/o the TCC lockup. I did hear that that was a problem with "early" 700r4's. After looking into these things, it appears the '85 has the second generation of them. Does anyone know if that means I won't overheat by driving w/o the TCC? I would love to drive to Corvettes at Carlisle today or tomorrow.
