Default 406 with SC

OK, I was considering dumping my C4 but it looks like its going to be around for a while.

Right now I have a 406, 233/233 Hyd-roller cam cam, 11:1 compression, very streetable

If I go to a ATI Procharger (P600B) I assume that my cam is no good, my and my compression is too much.

If I back off the CR and the cam then my 385rwhp-412rwtq is gonna drop to probably 350rwhp or so,, by adding the P600b, what can I realistcally end up with at the wheels?

My desire would be to have 500rwhp or more or mid 5xx-rwtq,,

is this possible?

What is the LSA for your cam? If I had that cam with an LSA 112 or larger, I'd probably try using it. If your cr was around 9.25 and your boost was around 9 lbs, I would think that would push you past your goal of 500 rwhp (4 psi= 440 rwhp, 9 psi=525 rwhp, 14 psi=600 rwhp?? wild guesses on my part!!). One down note, asking a P600B to feed 9 lbs of boost to 406 cid is...well, in that size blower, that's a lot of cfm and you'll probably generate a lot of heat, too.

I'm sure there will be a number of differing oppinions on this subject but that is my 2 cents.

One of my early combos was 355cid with 11.2:1 SCR and a HR cam (228/228 @0.050, 112, 0.576), SR, 58MM, and a P-600B. The blower added just under 12 psi. At the end of this combo, it was yielding ~570WHP and was a lot of fun on the track and the street.

However, it was extremely dependent upon the tune. The late Jim Formato (awesome tuner, Jeremy is following in his same tracks) did the tune. If you can nail the tune, then you should be able to get away with it for some time, if not, the engine will be short lived.

The car ran very low 10s in the 133-134 MPH range, but never did get into the 9s due to some other issues .

I hope this helps.
Aaron

Thanks for the info,, I don't mind changing the cam really, my bigger concern was the CR and would the SC be capable of getting me into the 5XXWHP range.

My block is a stock block , w/2-bolt mains so more HP would be great but I don't know how much the block could take safely.

The above detailed combo was with a stock 2-bolt main block. Nothing really special, other than attention to detail on the build.

Well, I have the AFR-210's so that should be a good thing, they are down to 68cc' and my block is .010 in the hole SCAT crank and Wiseco pistons. I have the Holley Stealth Ram but also have access to a Miniram if it was necessary.

I also wondered about changing to Speed Density so I could eliminate the restriction of the MAF, advisable?

I had been looking at Big Blocks but I think this route, a SC with intercooler, would be cheaper in the long run and I dont have to start from scratch.

Well, I will start to study this and see what questions I have. I had planned on painting the car this winter but I could use that money to do this mod, paint can wait.

I had been studying the Big Block chevy thing looking for a flat TQ of in the high 5XX-rwtq range but it looks like a SC is cheaper in the long run. Plus I dont need a new hood.

Default 383 ati

I have a 383 with 224/230 - .502/.510 - LSA 114, I just had it at the dyno. With stock heads, 30lbs injectors and 6-7 lbs boost it made 396.4 HP at rear wheel and 518.8 TQ. I think there is a little more in this set up? Aaron has told me to look at a smaller pulley for more boost.
