I had to get one from the local chevy dealer. I broke off the clips when I changed out the radiator last year

I know. Which is why I don't understand why some insits on paying a preminum for an AC Delco piece from the dealer instead of the parts stores for things like relays and such. Most AC Delco parts are made offshore now. So how is it any better?

Take a look at the shipping prices when you go to check out, then decide if the savings are stil worth the wait after the grand total. They purposely way overcharge on shipping. This is where they stick you for their "other expenses like web programming, employees, etc."

Read their FAQ.

https://secure.gmpartsdirect.com/sec...ervice/faq.cfm

I priced out a few ABS relays that where about half dealer cost. But when I went to check out and saw the rediculously high shipping costs for a couple of tiny relays that weight ounces, the small savings was not worth the wait. I think they wanted like $20 something to ship two relays and would take weeks to receive. The tiny savings just was just not worth it.

-At least a week before your order is even shipped out.
-Decided against having a phone line to save money. You can't call them.
-Can't speak to a live person if you needed to.
-All correspondence is via email. They save money by not having a phone line according to them.
-Need to cancel an order, you can't. They won't do it. Once it's placed, you cannot cancel it.
-Ships ground only. Need your parts fast? Forget it. Maybe that's a good thing based on their shipping fees.

I guess some of you might need a history/geography lesson. Taiwan is not China. Many of the people are of Chinese descent, but the culture and education for many many decades has been more Japanese.

Taiwan is a multi-party democracy known world wide for their excellent electronic products. As a matter of fact their manufacturing orientation is mostly American and has been for decades. In short Taiwan produces electronics that rival the very best in the world.

back to the issue at hand.
The coolant sesor never goes bad, it is a blade of tin stuck in a plastic clip.
The compromise comes where you try to move it, and the clips break off.
If your coolant light is flashing on and off, you need to burp your cooling system.

AC Delco parts are made all over the world like Israel, China, Malaysia, just to name a few.

In fact, I just digged out this extra Starter Enable Relay I got laying around since you brought this up. It's made in China. So explain this one.

OK, it's made in China. Boy that was easy. Taiwan is still not China. Glad you digged it out though.

Never said it was. All I said was AC Delco parts are made offshore and agreed that you can get Chinese made parts. I just proved it.

Your answer is what I expected.
