Just Ordered an X-RAM
Via cod since I have no clue when I will actually get it.
But when/if I do.... :)
Should be fun once it arrives (hopefully before the spring)
Anybody else here have an X-RAM installed in thier 84?

I wanted to get one this winter.
But my tranny crapped on me in Nov. :(
Haven't decided if I am going to get this one rebuilt
or get a new one.

A few of MY feelings about the X-Ram. All the reports I have seen, state tremendous power gains. Almost too much in some reports, but I believe they must be an excellent power enhancement. If your goal is to maintain the "stock" crossfire LOOK and add power, it is a good way to go. Realize that although you keep your stock air cleaner, you no longer have a crossfire engine. SOME people are crossfire purists. If you don't care about having a "crossfire" I think that there are more powerful alternatives available. But probably not as inexpensive. You pays your money, and you takes your choice. These are just a couple of MY thoughts on the X-Ram. Have fun.

I thought about using the Offenhauser crossram but the stock HEI distributor can't be used. It's stated in the footnotes for the crossram. I don't think the F body small cap distributor is a direct plug in for use in a Vette. What are your plans for a distributor? I may reconsider using this if you have a solution.

The Offy Crossram will work with the HEI if throttle bodies are used. The clearance problem must be when using carburetors. The HEI vacuum advance is on the passenger side. From visualizing with pictures it doesn't look like the Vacuum advance would have a clearance problem

Is that picture of the Crossram installed in an '84 your Vette? I sure would like to see more pics of the install from all sides if possible. If you have any other information on this installation I'd be very interested.

No, thats not his. Its a guy whos sceen name is Pokey at the crossfire forum. He had it running but his lower end went out afterwards. Thinking about switching over to wet flow? :crazy:
