IMHO they did away with it because it wasn't necessary and saved a few bucks for GM.

Yes and No My WC valve was leaking and it did fix that BUT my heater core is also bad so i bypassed it till i can afford the fix. seems to be running cooler I also did a sustem flish and even took the over flow tank out and cleaned it up.
