Default Instrument Panel

My Instrument Panel (IP) appears to have developed and intermittent. Sometimes it works perfect, other times it is blank, other times it shows some of the led's, and sometimes it goes through what I would think is a test sequence for about 1.5-2 seconds. Sometimes after the car has been sitting in the hot sun, after the air conditioning is on for about 10 minutes, the IP comes on again. I have looked at it and the Circuit board appears fine. Is there a connection outside of the IP that I should check? What should I be looking for?

Thanks for your time.

No mention of your car's year, and your profile is blank.

Probably a ground issue or connection, but stating the year is important!

It is a 1985, sorry about leaving this out. I have the Corvette service manual, but it does not go into the detail about the IP as I guess that it is considered a replaceable part. I know that there are places to send the IP for "rebuilding", but I am unsure that this will solve the problem.

Thanks for your replies!
PS I have added to my empty profile as well.
