Default Photosensitive Lens Going south?

During the the day my dash dosen't seem to illuminate as bright as it once did.And at night it only gets really bright if I'm under an overpass or in a lighted parking lot.Is there any diagnostic test I can do to see if the Photo lens is going bad.Any sugggestions appreciated

have you replaced your bulbs before? That might be a good idea if you havent. Put your thumb over the cell and see if the dash dims, also make sure your headlight **** is turned to full brightness (i sometimes forget myself)

I hit the dim variable resistor switch all the time on accident when I turn the headlights on and off...

Its not the dimmer either.I might just pull the gauge package out again and make sure all the wire connections are snug.Otherwise I gues I'll just live with it.

well there isnt really a fix for it other than replacing the unit, but as long as you can see the numbers during the day clearly then id just live with it
