Sounds like his problem. Quit wasting your time and money and get a MSD opti!
Why so it can fail on him? Better do a search they are failing at an impressive rate. There is nothing wrong with the OEM opti that he got from thepartsladi.They are affiliated with a major corvette supplier and a dealership.
As I said already your car is running you can wait for someone with a crystal ball or you can get a scan posted and look at what the engine is doing.

When you replaced it and you noticed that the rotor was visibly off upon replacement, did you compare the 2 Opti units and make sure that the new one placed the rotor at the same position as the original one if you referenced both the drives in the same position?
