Default Air Filter Box

I have read many posts about "cutting" an opening in the air filter box. Can anyone send photos of what you guys have done to help get more air? I am a pretty new owner and not a mechanic in any way. Thanks in advance.

It felt faster just like after waxing. Seriously, I think I saw a dyno somewhere showing a 2hp gain. Too small of an amount to accurately measure on a dyno, IMO. It's a free mod and it doesn't hurt anything other than the filter getting dirty quicker. In a bigger cubed highly modified engine I believe it would be more benificial.

It's rated at 5 horsepower. If you descreen the mafs it might make it a little more closer to 5 but, like Rick said, they are free mods and they certainly can't hurt performance. Once the engine is heavily modified, then yes doing the free mods would make more of a difference.

I did mine a little different, left some metal and put a screen in.

As far as it improving things, it looks like it will flow better! But after the filter it has to go through that skinny tube over the radiator..I just couldn't leave it stock, it just looks too restrictive.
