Default Help with OBD1 Software

OK, I'm looking at Datamaster and if I understand their website correctly they require a serial port DB9 connection.

The cable I purchased is USB. Can Datamaster use USB, do I have it wrong?

If not Datamaster, here's a link of other software. Which one do you guys use that will support an USB based cable?

Thanks.

ALDL.com recommends the USB cable for C4 - OBD1
Are you getting Codes or just Service Engine Light?

TunerPro (and TunerPro RT) along with the USB cables from: http://www.moates.net/

I also have and use CATS Tuner software - it's actually an easier Editor to play with (IMHO).

I have used both cable types with DataMaster and TunerCATS. Both programs are not cable sensitive. They don't care what cable you are using, USB or RS232.

The issue is your Vette's ALDL connector and your computer ports connecting with the proper cable.
