My 90 vette is speed density what is the best aftermarket cam to go with before programing is needed. I know tpis list computer friendly cams but are they really?

Pretty much anything you put in there will require a tune. When TPiS says their cams are computer friendly it means the computer can be tuned to accept that cam.

Any cam change will warrant a retune.

I got my cam off ebay a few years ago. As far as the springs go:

GMPP part from any dealer
Individual spring #12551483 green stripe

Available as a kit of 16 # 12495494 for under $40

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/perform...CATID=734.html

I dont do any drag racing if those are the times you are looking for. I road race. The only track I have been on with the new cam is Nelson Ledges in Ohio. At a time trial event (no flying start) I was running 1:17.xx Dont know if that helps or not.

ZZ4 cam is very mild. Since you are porting the heads go with a ZZ9 cam and 1.6RR's at the same time. PCM for less is very experienced with those mods. Your stock injectors should be fine if they are in good shape.

ZZ9 is a great street cam. It will idle pretty well. Talk to TPiS

You can put in the ZZ4 if you like, but its wimpy. I'd go for ZZ9 minimum from TPiS. It will need a retune no matter what you do. The mail order tunes are fine, just tell them everything you've done to the engine.

You dont have to do anything else but the springs, not injectors, not converter, nothing. And these cams are small enough to not mess with idle or anything.
